Accounting 200

Posted by lavzz on April 9, 2009

So, have been busy with my online accounting course these days. One of the requirements for my pre-mat at HBS is to complete courses in Accounting and Finance and HBS suggested that I do them from  BYU. It consists of 16 lessons with 3 hours of lecture for each lesson followed by an online quiz and not to forget 3 exams in the middle. By the time I am back from work and log in to finish course work for the day, I am already half dead.

A Prelude for things to come?

Btw, R 2 results are out and 2 more guys from my firm made it.  Should be a strong Indian crowd this year at HBS .

Pre-matriculation

Posted by lavzz on February 9, 2009

The HBS pre-matriculation website has a million things that I have to complete before I am school-ready in August. All the employment verification,  medical and academic transcript submission aside, it says that I have to take additional course work in both Accounting and Finance before matriculating as I am what it has labeled as ‘non- traditional MBA’. Hunting for courses in India suiting its needs seem to be filling up most of my time these days.

That aside, I am considering quitting in June, so that gives me another 5 months to go at work :(

Currently reading the HBS survival guide for the class of 2011. Extremely well written book. Hats off to the student association. They really go the extra mile to make the new admits comfortable about the school.

And ya, my IIMB interview is scheduled on 20th of Feb. Should study something. hopefully, i wont get too arrogant and utter the H-bomb in front of them (apparently, according to the survival guide, HBS students call the school the H-bomb :P )
